THE SHORT ANSWER
Xbox Cloud Gaming reads controllers through the browser. If this page shows your DualSense with a standard layout, Xbox Cloud Gaming can use it. The game shows Xbox prompts: ✕ = A, ○ = B, □ = X, △ = Y. If nothing appears, press a button first: browsers hide controllers until then.
Connect a DualSense to your computer
- USB: use a USB-C cable that carries data. Some charging-only cables power the controller but never show it to the computer.
- Bluetooth: hold Create and the PS button until the light bar flashes, then pair it in your computer's Bluetooth settings. For a DualShock 4, hold Share and PS.
- Open this page in the browser you play in, click the page once, then press a button.

Which button is which in Xbox games
| PlayStation | Xbox Cloud Gaming sees |
|---|---|
| ✕ Cross | A |
| ○ Circle | B |
| □ Square | X |
| △ Triangle | Y |
| L1 / R1 | LB / RB |
| L2 / R2 | LT / RT |
| Create (Share on PS4) | View |
| Options | Menu |
| L3 / R3 (press the sticks) | LS / RS |
| PS button | Xbox button (often opens the browser or system overlay instead) |
The touchpad click usually appears as an extra button (index 17 in Raw data). Xbox games have no button for it, so it does nothing in a cloud game.
What doesn't work in a browser
The browser's standard controller interface only carries buttons, sticks, triggers and basic vibration. So in Xbox Cloud Gaming the DualSense's adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, light bar, motion sensors and headset jack stay unused. Vibration works only when the browser exposes it. Use the vibration test above to check yours.
DualSense stick drift
DualSense controllers are known for stick drift as they age. Let go of both sticks and run the drift test above. Under 5% is normal. Between 5% and 15% is mild drift that a slightly larger deadzone hides. Above 15%, reconnect the controller first; if it persists, the stick may need cleaning or repair.
Xbox Cloud Gaming games use their own deadzones, and few let you change them. Cloud Keys can add a deadzone to each stick in the browser. See the gamepad remapping guide.
Questions
Do I need DS4Windows or Steam to use a DualSense on Xbox Cloud Gaming?
Usually not. Chrome and Edge normally read PlayStation controllers directly. If this page shows a standard layout, close DS4Windows and Steam: running them as well can create a duplicate controller.
Can I swap ✕ and ○, or move buttons around?
Xbox Cloud Gaming has no remapping of its own. Cloud Keys, a Chrome extension, can remap any button and save a layout per game.
Does a PS4 DualShock 4 work the same way?
Yes. This tester and the button table apply to both controllers. A DualShock 4 connects with a micro-USB cable or by holding Share and PS to pair.
